Sandy Springs has scheduled two public meetings Oct. 25 to provide information about the proposed extension of the Path 400 Multiuse Trail.

The town halls are set for 10 a.m. to noon and 6 to 8 p.m. at Highpoint Episcopal Community Church, 4945 High Point Road. The content will be the same at both meetings, with residents viewing maps, commenting, asking questions and participating in an interactive design charrette.

Path 400 is to be extended from Loridans Drive north to the Ga. 400/I-285 interchange, primarily within the existing Georgia Department of Transportation right-of-way of Ga. 400. The extension also would “provide connectivity” with proposed multiuse paths on Peachtree Dunwoody Road and Mount Vernon Highway, officials said.

The project is to be funded by the Transportation Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax approved by voters last November.
