Sandy Springs is seeking qualified companies to submit proposals for municipal court solicitor, with a deadline of 2 p.m., Feb. 27.

According to the request for proposals, the Sandy Springs Municipal Court began in 2006, shortly after the city’s creation, and sees about 17,000 to 18,000 cases per year. It has four appointed judges, court sessions generally scheduled three to four days a week, and a court calendar that primarily consists of jail sessions, environmental court, trials and arraignments.

The solicitor’s duties include representing the city in criminal and ordinance violation prosecutions; handling all aspects of prosecution from investigation through trial, sentencing and appeal; and providing legal research, training and assistance to the police department, the RFP says.

The city will accept only online submissions, only through its Bonfire portal at: https://bit.ly/2Fmnc7R. Questions or requests for clarification must be sent via Bonfire no later than 5 p.m., Jan. 30.
