Sandy Springs business owners unite
A group of business owners have formed a group dedicated to helping fashion a downtown Sandy Springs.
Calling itself the Main Street Alliance, the group of property owners along Roswell Road are working on a vision that includes retail, office and residential space for a center city.
The area in question, on Roswell Road between I-285 and Abernathy Road, is also one that political leaders have singled out as a downtown area of the five-year-old city.
The city already owns a former Target store at Johnson Ferry and Roswell roads, with plans for the site to be a future city hall and center of a new downtown.
So far, members of the Alliance have met informally with one another, not with city leaders, to discuss ideas. Those interested in the group should contact Mimms Enterprises, which owns several shopping centers in the area, for more information.
