Do you have one of those dogs that needs to go for a run every day? Here’s an event that you, and your friendly pup, might be interested in.

On Oct. 18, the Alpharetta Public Safety Foundation will host its K-9 5K Foot Chase. The race begins at 7 p.m. at Alpharetta City Hall at 2 Park Plaza.

Participating in the 5K will be Alpharetta police officers and their K-9s. The event is open to all runners and walkers and their four-legged friends. Event organizers ask that participants leave aggressive dogs at home.

Registration for the race is $30. The event is a qualifier for the Peachtree Road Race. The race will go on, rain or shine. For more information and to register, visit the event's Facebook page.
