Roswell officials said construction begins on the Thomas Street water line project today, weather permitting. Crews will replace a 2-inch galvanized line with an 8-inch iron water line for improved flow and water quality.

While the work will take place behind the curb, construction equipment will block one of the traffic lanes during the construction period, which is estimated to last about 30 days and take place between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. p.m. Drivers are urged to avoid the street, if possible.
