A study done for the Roswell Convention and Visitors Bureau by North Star Destination Strategies Inc. found that in the past year, tourism brought in $91.1 million to the city. The report calculated only direct spending by visitors, not property tax, jobs and salaries/wages.

The group said based on survey results, the convention and visitors bureau’s Visit Roswell program directly accounted for $55.5 million, or more than 60 percent of tourism spending.

The report also said that for every dollar invested in the convention and visitor’s bureaus tourism budget, the city gets a return of nearly $111 in tourism-related economic activity.

The report was presented at the group’s recent annual meeting.
