Roswell receives grants for vests, thermal imaging units

Nov 2, 2010Roswell will receive a $9,000 federal grant to purchase bulletproof and stab-resistant vests for the police department.
The city will have to provide $4,500 in matching funds. The grant comes from the U.S. Justice Department.
The city also accepted a $5,000 grant from Target to purchase thermal imaging units that will help police pursue suspects at night and in dark locations. No local match is required.
