The Roswell City Council has approved a $187,125 contract to have engineering consultant Michael Baker International begin the next phase of planning for the Riverside Road “complete street” project.

Riverside follows the north bank of the Chattahoochee River in Roswell, and the project extends from the Riverside Park entrance to Old Alabama Road.

“Anticipated improvements would consist of safety/operational improvements at intersections, speed reduction measures, improved bicycle and pedestrian facilities, and streetscape features,” staff said in a report to the council. “Concept development and public outreach for this project (are) ready to move forward.”

The consultant will review prior plans and studies, meet with staff and the public, gather and analyze data, and draw concept plans with typical cross-sections, staff said.
