Trainers from the state Ethics Commission will lead a free Workshop for Candidate Training in Roswell for people interested in running for public office.

The workshop is scheduled for 1 to 3 p.m. Friday, Aug. 2, in Room 220 of Roswell City Hall, 38 Hill St. It will be presented by the Georgia Government Transparency and Campaign Finance Commission, also known as the Ethics Commission, according to a city announcement.

Training staff will discuss the Campaign Finance Act and how it applies to candidates and public officials. “Topics may include preliminary matters, definitions, forms, reports, late filing fees, contribution limits and campaign records,” the city said.
