Give me your money or I'll open the garage!
That's not exactly how the crimes went down, but it's not too far off.
Henry County police said a 44-year-old man allegedly "armed" himself with a garage door opener that he claimed was a bomb and demanded cash at two Stockbridge business.
After issuing a lookout for him Tuesday morning, detectives learned Anthony Craig Dobson was in custody in neighboring Clayton County.
Dobson's approach was unusual, Henry police Maj. Jason Bolton said.
Dobson would allegedly hold up a garage door opener with a telephone cord wrapped around it, claim it was a bomb and threaten to detonate it if the clerks didn't hand over the money.
"He left both locations with an undisclosed amount of cash," Bolton said.
Witnesses reported seeing Dobson driving a dark blue 1999 Dodge truck or a green 2000 Plymouth minivan when he fled from a Subway restaurant on North Park Place in Stockbridge on Friday and the Delta Community Credit Union on Center Pointe Parkway in Stockbridge on Saturday. The Voyager minivan is believed to have been stolen.
Fayette County authorities also want to question Dobson in connection with two other armed robberies and a robbery by sudden snatch.
