A 43-year-old man was taken to jail after calling police complaining that a drug dealer had stolen his money.
Around 3 a.m., Athens-Clarke police responded to a call from a man saying he went to the apartments on Hickman Drive to buy dope and the dealer took his money and never gave him the drugs, according to a report in the Athens Banner-Herald.
The man, Freddie Jerome Brown, asked for his money to be returned and for the dealer to be arrested.
Police officers came to the apartment Brown indicated, but residents said he had knocked before and was asked to leave the premises. They said Brown was drunk and had gone to the wrong apartment.
Brown was taken to jail after being charged with trespassing.
