Report: 2 horses found starved in Forsyth County

A Forsyth County woman was arrested after police found two starved horses and the skeletal remains of another horse on her farm, the Forsyth County News reported.

Maria Rosario Aguilar, 37, was charged with three counts of misdemeanor animal cruelty after a neighbor reported a stray horse to police last week, according to the report.

Lt. David Waters told the newspaper that animal control officers arrived to find a horse so malnourished, its hips and ribs were showing under the flesh.

Aguilar was also charged with four counts of felony theft by receiving after stolen property was found on the north Forsyth farm, the sheriff's office told the newspaper.
