Even if you don’t live in Snellville, you can rent raised beds in the city’s community garden.

Community Garden @Snellville has multiple raised beds in two sizes — 4 feet by 8 feet and 4 feet by 12 feet — available for rent starting April 1, the beginning of the garden’s growing season. Raised beds are believed to prevent weed intrusion, provide better drainage and have many other benefits.

Each raised bed in the Snellville garden is partially filled with composted soil, and gardeners can add their own additional soil or other materials. Water is provided for those who rent a bed in the garden.

4-by-8 beds are $35 for city residents for a year's use, and $50 for those who don't live in Snellville. 4-by-12 beds are $50 for city residents and $65 for non-residents.  For an application, go to snelllvillecommunitygarden.com.

The garden is located at 2500 Sawyer Parkway.
