The three suspects in a home invasion that led to a police chase remained in jail Thursday in Cobb County, police said.

The incident began shortly before noon Wednesday when three suspects entered a home in the 200 block of Lamplighter Lane, demanded property and fired shots, striking two people in the home, Officer Mike Bowman with Cobb police told the AJC. The two victims, whose names were not released, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were hospitalized, he said.

The three suspects then left the home in a silver Dodge Charger, and a third person in the home followed the trio in his own car, Bowman said. The suspects continued shooting, he said.

Officers responding to reports of shots fired and cars racing attempted to stop the suspects' vehicle, police said. When officers surrounded the suspects' car, three men got out of the car and ran but were later detained, according to police.

The chase ended on Lower Roswell Road at the South Marietta Loop, but one of the three suspects ran into a Wells Fargo parking lot, with Officer D.L. Malone quick on his heels, Sgt. Dana Pierce with Cobb police said Thursday.

"While attempting to catch the suspect, Officer Malone and another officer (who was responding in a police cruiser) made contact with each other in the bank parking lot," Pierce said in a press release. "As a result, Officer Malone suffered a fractured right leg."

The suspect was then taken into custody at the bank by another officer, Pierce said.

The three suspects were identified Thursday as Quinton Castile Gatling, 26, and Dennis Christopher Ivory, 29, both of Marietta, and Ronald McCall, 27, of Fairburn.

All three were charged with burglary, armed robbery and aggravated assault and booked into the Cobb County jail, where they were being held Thursday without bond.

The incidents Wednesday caused several streets in the area to be temporarily closed.
