Mayor Kasim Reed participated today in the U.S.-China CEO Bilateral Investment Dialogue in New York City. The event brings together CEOs, policymakers, state and local officials and key thought leaders to discuss expanding bilateral investment, including through the completion of the Bilateral Investment Treaty negotiations.

“Exploring and creating economic development opportunities to improve Atlanta’s position as a market for international trade and commerce has been a priority of my Administration,” said Mayor Reed. “I look forward to being with business leaders and policy makers to discuss Atlanta’s position as an international city and strengthen key relationships with business and government leaders to encourage foreign direct investment in Atlanta by Chinese companies.”

In 2012, Mayor Reed traveled to China on a trade mission to encourage foreign direct investment in metropolitan Atlanta and help small- to- medium sized local businesses identify and grow their export opportunities with the world’s second-largest economy.
