Janet Day, the president of the Art Institute of Atlanta, will retire at the end of the month, officials announced Thursday. Day has served as the college's president since 1998.
Officials said a search is underway for a new president.
The private college enrolls about 3,800 students at locations in Atlanta and Decatur.
The chairman of the board of trustees and the president of the Arts Institute sent a letter to faculty and staff telling them of Day's retirement. The Art Institute of Atlanta is one of The Art Institutes, which has more than 40 locations in North America.
