Power saw-packing bandit hits Dollar Tree safes
For the second time this year a man packing a power saw made his way into a Dollar Tree safe and made off with cash, Milton police said Saturday.
Police are offering up to $2,000 to capture the middle-aged, heavy-set suspect, who broke into a Dollar Tree on state Highway 9 last month.
The man was caught on a security camera entering the Deerfield Place shopping center store around 11:20 p.m. on Feb. 11. He used a Makita reciprocating saw to cut into the safe before stealing the cash inside.
The man is described white, 5 feet 6 inches to 5 feet 8 and weighing about 230 to 250 pounds.
Police said the same suspect is wanted in a similar burglary at another Dollar Tree earlier this year also on Highway 9 but in Forsyth County. That break-in occurred at a store in the Grasslands Plaza shopping center.
Information about the crime may be submitted to Crime Stoppers at 404-577-8477.
