Michael M. Anderson, a DeKalb County public works official, was hired Monday by the Powder Springs City Council as the city’s new public works director.

He will receive an annual salary of $80,000 plus 40 hours of vacation upfront and a take-home city vehicle.

Anderson’s start date will be Nov. 18.

He replaces Greg Ramsey who was hired in 2011 and resigned on Aug. 27, with a salary of $85,000, to become the public works director for Peachtree Corners through a contract with CH2M HILL.

Powder Springs’ retired Public Works Director Rodger Swaim is the interim director.
