Gwinnett County police say they are still seeking clues in the baffling disappearance of 18-year-old Justin Gaines, who left a nightclub in Duluth four years ago and was never seen again.

Gaines, a smiling, muscular teenager, was a freshman at the Oconee campus of Gainesville College in Athens. He was home from school on a weekend break on Nov. 2, 2007 when he decided to meet up with friends at Wild Bill's nightclub near Gwinnett Place Mall.

His subsequent disappearance gained national attention.

Cpl. Jake Smith, spokesman for the Gwinnett County Police Department, said that even now, investigators frequently have new information to follow up on. However, there is nothing they think would be beneficial to share with the public right now.

Family members said Gaines made several calls to friends looking for a ride home that night. No one was able to pick him up. They believe someone may have offered him a ride and robbed or harmed him.

Gaines' mother and stepfather, Erika and Steven Wilson, have devoted much of their time over the past four years to trying to find out what happened to him, including hiring a private investigator, holding memorial services, fundraisers and setting up a website. They are offering a $25,000 reward for information leading to Gaines' safe return.

Erika Wilson said that another search of the area using cadaver dogs was performed within the last few months, but no remains were found. She is planning to return with a few supporters to Wild Bill's this week or next week to hand out fliers in hopes of generating more leads.

"I am convinced there is somebody out there that could give us the whole story and bring justice," Wilson said. "I strongly feel that they are coming closer and it can be solved."
