Police seek man who shot 2 women

Atlanta police are asking the public to help find a man who shot two women after they refused to take interest in him.

"We are trying to find leads and asking the public to give us any information that could identify him," Atlanta Police spokesman Officer Otis Redmond said Friday.

The two women were outside an apartment complex on Campbellton Road in southwest Atlanta on Wednesday night when a strange man approached and made advanced to them, police said.

"He tried to talk to them in front of the apartment complex and they weren't interested," Atlanta Police spokesman James Polite said.

The man then followed the women about half a mile as they drove down Campbellton Road and on to I-285. They were on the ramp of I-285 when he opened fire, striking one woman in the face and the other in the chest, police said. The women remain at Grady Hospital in stable condition.

Police declined to identify the victims for safety reasons, since the suspect knows where they live.

The shooter, a black male, then fled in his red Eagle Talon convertible with a black top.

Anyone with information about the suspect is urged to contact CrimeStoppers at 404-577-TIPS.
