He dropped her at a nearby hospital and drove away with their child, DeKalb County police spokeswoman Shiera Campbell said.

The wife was in serious but stable condition, Campbell said.

Cobb police arrested Dobbins after he returned to his home hours later. The child was found safe and unharmed, according to police.

Dobbins is being held at the Cobb County Adult Detention Center, but he faces charges across multiple jurisdictions. Officers with Cobb, Atlanta and the DeKalb County Special Victims Unit worked the case.

According to Channel 2 Action News, Dobbins faces charges of kidnapping, theft and aggravated assault.
