Police say a drug deal gone awry led to the shooting of a man Wednesday in a Henry County subdivision.
Kristin D. Jones, 21, of Jonesboro was charged with aggravated assault after a 21-year-old man was shot once while sitting in his car in the parking lot of the Clark Meadows neighborhood swimming pool around 4:21 p.m., said Major Jason Bolton, Henry County police spokesman.
Bolton said after the shooting Jones fled in a blue Infiniti. Clayton County police found her and the vehicle overnight at the intersection of Georgia highways 54 and 138, Bolton said. She was arrested and taken to the Henry County jail.
The victim, identified as Akkeeme Ramaud Mardner of McDonough, was transported to Atlanta Medical Center, where he was in critical condition.
