Lovejoy police are on the lookout for a man accused of torturing a woman in her own home, Channel 2 Action News reported.
A GBI sketch of the suspect, known to the woman as "Raheem," was released Wednesday. He has an "NY" tattoo on one side of his neck and two tear drops underneath his right eye.
The woman survived a "severe beating," police said, and she is recovering at a hospital.
She told police she met the man at a Tara Boulevard gas station last Thursday and gave him her phone number. She said he attacked her Saturday after arriving at her home uninvited.
Lovejoy Police Sgt. Michael Gaddis told Channel 2 that investigators found broken furniture and blood throughout the woman's home Sunday. The woman's 2005 blue Toyota Corolla, with Georgia tag, AGI-7082 is missing.
Police believe a frying pan cracked while being used as a weapon to beat the woman, who told authorities that she blacked out multiple times during the attack. When she awoke, he was gone, she told police. She went to a neighbor's home for help Sunday morning.
"I think he's done this several times before," Gaddis said. "He seemed like he didn't have a conscience about anything."
Anyone with any information on the case should call Lovejoy police at 678-610-9748.
