Atlanta police are looking for the hit-and-run driver who struck a scooter early Thursday, injuring the rider.
The incident happened about 2:30 a.m. on Metropolitan Parkway near Dill Avenue.
Channel 2 Action News reported that the rider was thrown from the scooter and was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital in stable condition.
Witnesses told Channel 2 that the scooter got stuck under the car and caught fire as it was dragged down the street.
The car's driver "backed up, got the scooter out from the car, and then he took off," witness Greg Giles said.
Police believe the car was a Pontiac Trans Am or similar vehicle.
