Gwinnett County police have two bodies but no cause of death after responding to a suspicious vehicle call in unincorporated Lawrenceville late Friday morning.
Officers were responding to a caller who suspected the pick-up truck might be dumping garbage illegally on Service Drive, a dead-end road near the intersection of New Hope Road and Sugarloaf Parkway, Gwinnett police spokesman Jake Smith said.
They found an adult male inside the truck and an adult woman just outside the vehicle. Smith said the cause of death was not immediately apparent and the bodies were taken for autopsies by the Gwinnett Medical Examiner’s office.
Detectives are treating the case as a homicide for now. Smith said there were no visible signs of violence, illicit drug use or anything else that could explain the deaths of the man and woman who appeared to be in their 30s and 40s.
