A man was killed after returning to his Lawrenceville apartment Saturday night during a burglary, police said.
Two men walking to the Cedargate Apartments in Long Leaf Drive were attacked at about 11 p.m. Neighbors called police, who found one man dead from a gunshot wound and another suffering from head injuries.
"At this point it appears as if they could have interrupted a burglary in progress when they arrived back at their house,” Lt. Gary Kotkiewicz of the Lawrenceville Police Department told Channel 2 Action News.
Paramedics took the man with the head injuries to Gwinnett Medical Center.
The victims' identities were not released.
Police did not say what, if anything, was taken in the burglary. Police took fingerprints in hopes of linking the burglary suspects to the attack.
