One of Gwinnett's most popular McDonald's locations failed its recent health inspection after officials noted, among other things, a "pink fluid substance" in the kitchen sink.
The McDonald's at 3210 Buford Drive, across the street from the Mall of Georgia, got a 65/U on the Sunday morning inspection.
According to the inspector's report, two "employee drinks" were improperly stored in the kitchen, and three employees were wearing bracelets while preparing food. A "jug of glass cleaner" was being stored on the kitchen's vegetable sink.
The report noted the inspector "observed pink fluid substance in vegetable sink as well."
An open bag of onions was stored "in direct contact" with raw meats, officials said, and multiple cheeses did not have time stamps.
"Today's visit was unsatisfactory [with] multiple risk factors in violation," the report said.
A person who answered the phone at the McDonald's on Monday morning hung up when asked for comment.
A follow-up inspection will be completed within 10 days of Sunday's failing evaluation.
