The first portion of the Sugar Hill Greenway is complete along Peachtree Industrial Boulevard. The Sugar Hill Greenway, an 11.5-mile greenway around the city with approximately 16.5 miles of trail, is a linear open space that connects multiple destinations along a corridor that is predominantly natural in character. Within the Sugar Hill Greenway will be a paved path trail intended for shared use by pedestrians, bicyclists, wheelchair users, joggers, and other non-motorized users.

To celebrate the first phase of the project the city is partnering with the Sugar Hill Running Club to host the first organized greenway run April 30. Citizens are encouraged to meet at Gwinnett Church, off of Peachtree Industrial Boulevard, before the run to learn about the construction progress and hear from city representatives. The run will begin at 6:45 p.m.
