Peephole burglars hit Woodstock apartment complex

Burglars in Woodstock apparently are using peepholes to peek in before going in, according to police.

Woodstock police told WGCL-TV that burglars had gone into nine apartments at Alta Woods and tried to get into three more on Monday.

In all cases, the peepholes on the doors were removed so the burglars could first see if anyone was home. The burglaries happened in the middle of the day when few people are around so any information of possible suspects is sketchy, police said.

In just two days, $15,000 in electronics was taken.

This has been going on in the complex since Labor Day, according to the news account.
