A pediatrician who had recently moved to Columbus to take a new job was arrested Thursday as part of an interstate child pornography investigation, the FBI said.
Yancy Craft, also known as Travis Mobley, was taken into custody by FBI agents in Columbus after coming to the attention of undercover officers on the Internet, according to Brian D. Lamkin, FBI special agent in charge of the Atlanta Field Office.
The investigation had been started by the FBI Memphis Crimes Against Children Task Force but was transferred to the Columbus area when it was learned Craft had relocated there, Lamkin said in a news release.
Craft, 41, is charged in a federal criminal complaint with possession and receipt of child pornography, according to the release.
Thursday afternoon, a U.S. Magistrate Judge in Columbus allowed Craft to be released on recognizance bond.
Among the conditions of his release, he is required to wear an electronic monitoring bracelet, have no unsupervised contact with anyone under 18, not have a firearm and be subject to home confinement from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m., an FBI spokesman said.
