All four of the private companies that provide trash collection service in Peachtree City have stopped accepting glass for recycling.

The city requires that Waste Industries, Integrated Waste Solutions, Republic Services and Pollard Residential Waste Services include curbside recycling as part of their basic service at no extra charge. However, the companies cited reduced demand for recycled glass and the hazards glass materials pose to sanitation workers as reasons for the change.

Glass containers can still be taken to the Public Works recycling center on McIntosh Trail.
