Peachtree City is submitting a “resolution of commitment” to the Atlanta Regional Commission in hopes of getting federal funding for three paving projects.

The City Council voted 5-0 on Nov. 21 to authorize Mayor Vanessa Fleisch to sign the document as part of the 2019 Transportation Improvement Plan. The ARC asked municipalities to submit potential projects as long as the applicants agreed to provide matching funds if federal grants are approved. Peachtree City is seeking to repave three miles of collector roads: Huddleston Road from SR 54 to Dividend Drive; Kelly Drive from Planterra Way to SR 74; McIntosh Trail from Peachtree Parkway to Robinson Road; and Ebenezer Road from Robinson Road to the city limit.

The projects amount to a grant request of just under $2.5 million; matching funds of up to $821,000 for whatever amount may be awarded from the ARC would come from the city’s SPLOST revenue.
