Peachtree City will not hold its annual Spring Clean-up this year because of the statewide public health distancing restrictions still in effect.

The city recommends that residents either contact their residential trash providers about bulk pickups or take items to the Fayette County Transfer Station at 211 First Manassas Mile Road in Fayetteville, which is open 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday-Saturday (but charges fees for disposal of large household items; see www.fayettecountyga.gov/solid_waste/disposalrates.htm).

However, Fayetteville will hold a free paper shredding and household glass recycling service on April 25 at City Hall; up to 10 boxes of paper (with binder clips removed) can be dropped off 9 a.m.-noon, and glass (no ceramics, windows or auto glass) will be accepted 9 a.m.-4 p.m. The self-service area for both materials enters off Fisher Avenue and exits onto Lee Street.
