A senior at North Cobb High School was caught selling drug-laced gummy bears on campus leading the school to investigate the incident and suspend the teen for 10 days, school officials told Channel 2 Action News Thursday.

Some students and parents said they expected a harsher punishment.

“Kids get suspended for bringing Pamprin to school,” parent Julie Paige said. “You know what I mean? It’s drug-laced candy, and that’s really sad, and it’s a bad situation.”

Cobb County police say a report was never made about the incident, according to Channel 2.

The school did not send a letter home telling parents about the situation, which Paige said she understands.

“I think that if we got a note every time there was drug-laced candy at a high school that we would be bombarded,” Paige said.
