New Year's Eve party to jam Marietta traffic

Where to park at Marietta Square
Street parking in the area is free Mondays through Fridays after 5 p.m. and all day Saturday and Sunday.
The following parking decks near Marietta Square will be free on New Year's Eve after 4 p.m.
- 120 Cherokee St, Marietta, Ga. 30060
- 191 Lawrence St, Marietta, Ga. 30060
- 205 Lawrence St, Marietta, Ga. 30060
Marietta Square's first-ever New Year's Eve ball drop is expected to stall traffic in the area Thursday.
Streets and roadways around the historic square will start closing at 11 a.m. Thursday morning. Police will enforce a full closure at 5:30 p.m.
Officials encourage New Year's Eve revelers to carpool, use a taxi or hire a ride-sharing service.
