New senior center to honor College Park mayor
College Park’s housing authority will dedicate a senior living center in honor of the city’s mayor in a special ceremony this weekend.
The Jack P. Longino Senior Complex will be dedicated in a ceremony that begins at 10 a.m. Saturday at the center, 1940 Princeton Ave.
It is the first building to be named for Longino, a four-term mayor whose grandfather, George F, Longino, also served as mayor of the south Fulton County city.
Longino has emphasized development as mayor, including that of the new three-story senior housing that includes a 2,800-square-foot atrium and landcaped 2.5-acre grounds.
The center is the second mid-level senior housing that the authority has built in recent years. Last year, the authority dedicated the Rhunette R. Lindsay complex in honor of a 17-year board member.
