A 19-year-old New Orleans man accused of shooting a man in the head earlier this week was captured in Gwinnett County.

Latrell Jamal Coleman was booked into the Gwinnett County jail following his arrest Wednesday night in Norcross, according to jail records.

Coleman allegedly shot a 20-year-old man in the head around 1 a.m. Monday, The Times-Picayune reported. The victim was transported to the LSU Trauma Center in stable condition, according to the report.

After identifying Coleman as a suspect, officers got a tip that he had gone to Georgia, investigators told the newspaper. Investigators contacted authorities in Georgia, who apprehended Coleman at a home on Beaver Springs Lane.

After he extradited back to Louisiana, Coleman is expected to be charged with attempted murder, police said.
