Roswell city officials have broken ground on a new adaptive therapeutic sports field at the Waller Park Extension on Dobbs Drive.

The new facility, set to open in spring 2016, includes synthetic turf that will allow wheelchairs and walkers to move freely upon it. City officials said the new field will allow them to expand adaptive programs to include such activities as youth baseball and softball.

The Roswell Rotary Club donated $60,000 towards the cost of the $105,000 project. Other donations came from the Friends of the Roswell Parks and the Roswell Recreation Association.
