Murder conviction in death of East Point teen
A Fulton County jury convicted a man Friday of killing an East Point teenager.
Deimeyon Xavier Allen, 33, was found guilty of felony murder and other charges in the shooting death of 17-year-old Keith Booker Jr., the Fulton County District Attorney’s office said.
Booker was shot and killed while visiting his older brothers at the Bulloch Habersham Apartments off Washington Road on Oct. 14, 2008.
According to information from the Fulton County District Attorney's office, Allen was also at the apartments and started to argue with Booker’s brothers. Allen left the apartment but returned with a .40 caliber handgun and started shooting, the D.A’s office said.
Booker was hit in the back as he was trying to run away.
A jury found Allen guilty of felony murder, murder, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.
Allen is scheduled to be sentenced in Fulton County Superior Court on Nov. 16.
