A motorcyclist was killed early Sunday in a crash involving a car in Cherokee County, a sheriff’s spokeswoman said.

Shortly before 11 a.m., a Honda Civic driven by Joanna Wagner, 19, of Acworth, was heading south on Bells Ferry Road and turning left onto Eagle Drive, Sgt. Marianne Kelley said.

A Harley-Davidson driven by Daniel Zimmerman, 55, of Cartersville, was northbound on Bells Ferry Road. “Preliminary indications show the Honda Civic turned left into the path of the motorcycle, which resulted in an accident,” Kelley said.

Zimmerman was pronounced dead at a hospital, according to Kelley.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
