A missing Holly Springs woman has been found safe in California, police said Monday night.

"She just wanted to go see a friend," Lt. Tanya Smith of the Holly Springs Police Department said.

Kelly Temples, 35, had last been seen on Charles Drive, in the Barrett Farms subdivision, July16 at 11:45 a.m., police said.

Temples was believed to have met someone online, police said.

Temples, who has diminished mental capacity, went for a walk and did not return home.

She flew to California and was found alone in Stockton, Smith said.

She is safe and has not yet returned home, Smith said.
