The city of Milton has announced six inaugural inductees for its Wall of Fame at Bell Memorial Park.
The names, etched in stone, will be unveiled at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 2, at the park, 15245 Bell Park Drive. Each inductee is from Milton or was involved in local youth recreational programs or high schools and excelled in their sport, officials said. Information: https://bit.ly/2Po9bvv
The inductees are Collin McHugh, Major League Baseball pitcher and 2017 World Series Champion with the Houston Astros; Tim Godby, a 13-time Georgia High School Association State High School Girls Lacrosse Championship coach at Milton High School; and Evan Nolte, 2014 ACC basketball champion with the University of Virginia.
Also, Ryan Gridley, a Mississippi State University baseball player, currently with the Oakland Athletics farm system; Michael Nugent, lacrosse goalie at Mercer University who played professionally with the Denver Outlaws and Boston Cannons; and Lydia Witkowski, softball player at Hofstra University and Georgia Southern University.
The inductees were among 15 individuals nominated in 2019 and selected by a nine-person committee made up of the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board and one representative each from Cambridge and Milton high schools. To submit a name for the 2020 nominations: https://bit.ly/31O3VUE
