The Milton City Council has approved agreements for the seventh edition of Crabapple Fest, the downtown community festival in October that’s expected to attract more than 30,000 visitors.

Crabapple Fest is set for 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 5. The event will offer more than 80 local artisan vendors, 20 food vendors, arts, antiques, children's activities, and big screen college football, the city said. Information: https://bit.ly/2ke9ko3

The council approved a partnership agreement with the Crabapple Merchant Association covering such matters as road closures, security, sponsorships, vendors, volunteers, revenues and budgeting; a management agreement with Premier Events to run the festival for an $8,500 fee; and an in-kind sponsorship agreement with New Providence LLC for the use of Lecoma Trace, a private road.

The festival is funded by line items in the city’s special event fund, $24,508, to be offset with an estimated $10,000 in sponsorships and about $1,000 in vendor fees, staff said in a report to the council.
