A man died Saturday morning after falling from a sidewalk outside a Midtown law office, police said.

He was reportedly in the area for a job interview.

Atlanta police responded to 21 8th St. at about 10:30 a.m. Saturday, finding the man dead on a walkway outside the law office at that location, spokeswoman Kim Jones said. The homicide unit was called to the scene, Jones said, but the incident was determined to be an accidental death.

Authorities believe the man fell from the street-level sidewalk and onto a walkway next to the building.

“It appears that the male fell onto the walkway and into the side of the building,” Jones said. “There was a (three- to five-foot) drop from street level.”

It was unclear what may have caused the man to fall.

A witness told police that the victim was in the area for a job interview, Jones said.

The victim’s identity was not released Saturday.
