You can vote early and often for Jekyll Island State Park in a national competition sponsored by Atlanta-based Coca-Cola to share prize money and marketing prestige.
Coke’s second annual America’s Favorite Park contest offers $175,000 in prize money to be divvied up among the top three on-line winners. Competition is fierce: Jekyll, near Brunswick in southeast Georgia, is currently ranked No. 5 out of 1,500 parks. Fast-charging McGrath State Beach in California is the main competition for a top five finish and the ensuing publicity and marketing cachet.
The contest ends midnight Sept. 6. To cast votes for Jekyll, go to http://www.savejekyllisland.org/FavoritePark.html. You can vote as often as you like. DAN CHAPMAN
