Atlanta police are investigating the death of a woman who apparently jumped from a room on the 11th floor of Grady Memorial Hospital early Tuesday.
Police spokeswoman Kim Jones told the AJC that officers responding to the downtown hospital around 3:15 a.m. found the woman's body lying on the pavement, directly beneath an open 11th floor window.
Jones said investigators determined that on one else was in the room with the woman, and there was "no apparent foul play."
The Fulton County Medical Examiner's office identified the woman as Gloria Shavers, 60, of Atlanta.
Channel 2 Action News reported that she being treated for seizures, and that the hospital's windows are not supposed to open. Shavers was not on a suicide watch, the station reported. MIKE MORRIS
