The Atlanta school board appointed new members to the ethics commission. Members serve five-year terms and include: Edith Richardson, Atlanta Council of PTAs; Stephen Paul Cummings II, Atlanta Bar Association; Fred Masci, Institute of Internal Auditors – Atlanta Chapter; Rebecca D. Pentz, Center for Ethics at Emory University; Joy Berry, Georgia School Boards Association; Sam Woodhouse, Gate City Bar Association. The Fulton County Registration and Elections Department is moving from the fourth floor of the Fulton County Government Center to Suite 2186 in the Public Safety Building next door, at 130 Peachtree St.  Residents can still access the office through the government center, entering through either the Pryor Street or Peachtree Street sides.

The move began on Thursday, with the department expected to be up and running in the Public Safety Building on Monday. JOHNNY EDWARDS

Georgia first lady Sandra Deal will host the grand opening of the Atlanta Metro Library for Accessible Services, on the fourth floor of Atlanta-Fulton's Central Library, on Monday at 10 a.m. The library will give blind and visually-impaired patrons access to Braille and recorded books and magazines, as well as six computers with screen reader or screen enlargement software.

There is also a booth for recording audio versions of books and magazines, and impaired children will have space for story times, games and crafts. Two walls will display works by visually-impaired artists. JOHNNY EDWARDS

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Georgia is teaming up with Radio Disney WDWD AM 590 to promote childhood health and wellness through the Get Active, Get Fit School Challenge.

Open to kindergarten through fifth grade schools, the program is designed to motivate kids and families to do fun activities together for at least 20 minutes every day. Students must be active for at least 40 of the 55 days. The challenge runs from Oct. 3 through Nov. 26. The top 20 schools will receive a Radio Disney dance party.
