A Fayetteville man recently claimed half of a large lottery prize.

Bradley Payne and a second winner matched all five numbers in the June 4 Fantasy 5 drawing, splitting the $1.3 million jackpot prize into a $666,595 win for each, according to Georgia Lottery spokeswoman Nia Roberts.

Payne purchased his winning ticket at K&R Food Mart, located at 8390 Senoia Road in Fairburn. He played these winning numbers: 7-14-21-24-38.

He bought the ticket while running errands and was ecstatic to have won.

“I was smiling and jumping for joy,” he said. “When I told my wife (Patricia), she didn’t believe me.”

The 63-year-old U.S. Army veteran and retired truck driver said he intends to use his winnings to pay some bills and relocate to St. Petersburg, Florida, Roberts said.

“I’ve been trying to get back down there since I retired,” he said. “I’m grateful.”

Payne picked up his prize last week at Georgia Lottery headquarters.

The second winner came forward Wednesday. The Texaco Hop In, located at 5248 Memorial Drive in Stone Mountain, sold the second winning ticket.
