Memorial honors slain deputy

The Gwinnett Sheriff's Department held a memorial to honor slain deputy Joy Deleston. Who was killed in February 2008.

A year after the slayings of Gwinnett County Sheriff's deputy Joy Deleston and her two young daughters, Deputy Martin Campbell (left) and Deputy Trennell Bulloch lower the flag to honor her memory.

Megan Wood, 21, from Lawrenceville, wipes away a tear during the memorial service. Wood worked with Deleston in the sex offenders sector.

While Deleston's slaying was not in the line of duty, the department honored her.

Tracey Laurie, 42, from Bethlehem becomes emotional during a memorial service for Gwinnett County Sheriff's deputy Joy Deleston and her two young daughters in front of the Gwinnett County Sheriff's Department and Detention Center on Friday. Laurie worked with Deleston in field operations.

Anthony Tyrone Terrell, Joy Deleston's son, has been charged with the murders. He is awaiting trial.
