The McDonough City Council voted at its Dec. 9 regular meeting to approve several major equipment and service expenditures.

Among them were $33,762 to purchase an air compressor system for Fire Station 51, and $28,829 to retrofit an existing generator to provide emergency power to the water department’s Turner Church Lift Station. Also approved was a one-time cost of $27,532.78 and a yearly recurring cost of $7,749.75 to replace the city’s existing website service provider. All of these actions were part of the council’s consent agenda, which includes passage of a resolution setting new hours for Sunday alcohol sales in accordance with the “brunch bill” referendum recently approved by voters.
